Joseph Stalin

What were the conditions of the dictator's nation before he took power?
          During 1982, Russia was weak, poor, and not up to date. This was due to WW1. Most of Europe was also suffering does depression due to WW1 as well.

How was the dictator able to come to power?
         Stalin took ideas from other well known leaders and transferred them into a "Reign of Terror."

What evidence do you see of the dictator being nationalistic? 
         Stalin made himself the face of Russia, therefore, he was responsible for any achievement. He controlled the media and this way always portrayed as good.

What evidence do you see the dictator being militaristic? 
         Stalin used the NKVD, a secret group of undercover police.

What goals did the dictator have about territorial expansion? 
         He wanted world domination and for everyone to follow communism.

What did the dictator do with people who opposed him or stood in his way?
        Stalin accused many people including his family. He would kill them by the use of NKVD.
Death was random.

What evidence is there that the dictator disrespected human rights?
         He overworked people as slaves. He imprisoned kids. He tortured Prisoners of War (POW). HE killed people who were a certain ideology or race.



Benito Mussolini


What were the conditions of the dictator's nation before he took power?
         Italy was suffering from depression along with the rest of Europe.

How was the dictator able to come to power? 
         Mussolini earned national prominence because he was well known as an Italian socialist leader.
What evidence do you see of the dictator being nationalistic?
         He joined Italian socialist group, he also preformed military services.

What evidence do you see of the dictator being militaristic? 
        Gained long term power through the use of military. He supported militias like a group called Black Shirts. 

What goals did the dictator have about territorial expansion? 
        Mussolini wanted the world to follow fascism. Take over many countries and then force this idea upon them, 

What did the dictator do with people who opposed him or stood in his way?
         He would simply kill you if you got in his way. But there weren't much of a massive killing, because of this he didn't have a lot of enemies. 

What evidence is there that the dictator disrespected human rights? 
        Mussolini would kill people who he thought or knew were against him. Even if they're innocent.

Adolf Hitler 


What were the conditions of the dictator's nation before he took power?
         Germany signed the Treaty of Versailles so this caused Germany to into depression.

How was the dictator able to come to power?
          Adolf joined the Nazi Party. Through the use of great oral skills.

What evidence do see of the dictator being nationalistic?
         He was a soldier in WW1. He saw extensive military action, he was wounded, and was a runner. He ended WW1 in a hospital.

What evidence do you see of the dictator being militaristic?
         Hitler was part of the Nazi Party.

What goals did the dictator have about territorial expansion?
          Hitler wanted world domination and everyone to follow communism.

What did the dictator do with people who opposed him or stood in his way?
         Hitler would send them to concentration camp where the will be killed. Or he'll simply kill them on the spot.

What evidence is there that the dictator disrespected human rights?
        If you were a certain ideology or race, then you were sent to a concentration camp. They would starve you, then finally kill you.

Hideki Tojo


What were the conditions of the dictator's nation before he took power? 
         Japan was also suffering from depression.

How was the dictator able to come to power?
         Japan favored the idea of a dictator. He used this to control Japan.

What evidence do you see of the dictator being nationalistic?
         Tojo made attacks on the Allies countries without a thought.

What evidence do you see of the dictator being militaristic?
         He worked to strengthen Japan's country after the depression, so he can build up a new military.

What goals did the dictator have about territorial expansion?
         Tojo wanted the whole world to follow fascism.

What did the dictator do with people who opposed him or stood in his way?
         Tojo would simply kill you if you got in his way. But he didn't have a lot of enemies so there weren't much of a massive killing.

What evidence is there that the dictator disrespected human rights? 
          He accused of Japan's aggressive foreign policy in the 1940's. Tojo also permitted abuse to Prisoners of War (POW).
